How to get to Malta

By Plane:

The island is served by the new international airport of Luga. The airport is well connected with the rest of the island. At the arrival you may choose to proceed by taxi, purchasing some fixed tariff ticket at the airport, by bus or by Pullman.
The national air company  Air Malta (KM, Knights of Malta) offers straight flights to various European destinations. And there are many other companies serving the island:  Alitalia, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, Swiss Air, Ryanair ecc.
From Luga depart every day 7 helicopters, at affordable tariffs, to explore the archipelago from a privileged point of observation. For info: MaltaInternationalAirport, Luga, tel. 22999884/5, fax 22999368, mia@airmalta.com.mt.

By Sea: there are various companies which provide connections between Malta and South Italy by ferry boat and catamaran. Here are the website of some of these companies: www.virtuferries.com; www.sms.com.mt/maresi; www.grimaldi-ferries.com.
The average price from Sicily (Catania) to Valletta is € 93 return, € 62 one way. The price for the car passage is € 169, for motorbike € 91, and for bike € 18. The journey takes about 3 hours from Catania to Valletta; two hours from Licata, one hour from Syracuse and Pozzallo. The fast catamarans operate only in summer, with shorter times of navigation respect to ferries.
