Mdina

Situated on the central-west hills at 190 m a.s.l., the former capital of the island is rich of history.
This is the city with the most well preserved and untouched urban frame of Malta, with beautiful examples of Norman architectures and very few interventions in terms of town-planning which date back to the age of the Knights.

The main attractions are:
  • Main Gate, the city main gate, in baroque style;
  • Palazzo Vilhena, (the Great Masters Palace), now seat of the Museum of Natural History;
  • Villegaignon Street, the main city axle
  • St. Pawl Cathedral, the best example of Maltese baroque.
